… We’ve been getting quite a few calls about New Year’s Eve. (This year it’s Monday night!! (Can you believe it? Another year, already?)) Here’s a quick FAQ, for your information:

What’s on your menu for New Year’s Eve?

We will not be doing anything different from what we’ve done all year round. We’re offering the same small plates fare that we’ve been offering to everybody throughout 2012. The experience here at Lunacy Black Market asks folks to allow themselves to relax.

Can I make a reservation?

We do not accept reservations. Please wait to be seated. We will seat complete parties only.

What if we’re a large group and we want to guarantee seating for everybody?

Our venue is small, and we serve our customers on a first-come, first-served basis, so we cannot guarantee seating. Please note that parties of six or more automatically receive a chef’s choice of food, priced at $27.60 pp and are also automatically charged a 20% gratuity.

Can I bring in my own wine, or do you have a wine license?

We do have a wine license, and we have lovely wines (from France, Spain, Italy, Argentina, California…) that range in price from $17 – $52. You are also welcome to bring in a bottle of wine or champagne. Please know, we charge a $15 corkage fee for each bottle you bring and consume.

Will there be a cover charge for New Year’s Eve?

No, we won’t charge a cover, nor are we selling tickets–even our bubblies are reasonably priced at under $20 per bottle! (If you want to bring your own bubbly, or wine, you’re most welcome. We do charge a $15/bottle corkage fee.) We invite you to be our guest this New Year’s Eve, and get fed before the peach drops only blocks away at the Underground.

What are your hours on New Year’s eve?

The kitchen will be open from 6 to 10 pm, but guests are always welcome to stay on and enjoy their wine, company and conversation. If you would like to keep the party going strong (with stronger libations) to ring in the New Year, we suggest you consider visiting an awesome pub just up the street called The Elliott Street Deli & Pub. Elliott Street is in walking (and stumbling!) distance from LBM, so this is a good option, if you don’t want to be pulled over with a DUI (something we absolutely do not under any circumstances condone, suggest or approve of).

Are y’all a kid-friendly establishment?

Let’s just say Lunacy Black Market is an intimate environment. By that, we mean folks like to have adult conversation which can sometimes be overheard by the neighboring table. Also, the chef has a reputation for getting naked–something we wouldn’t wish for innocent eyes to see! Who knows how we’ll ring in the New Year!

What about New Year’s Day?

Thanks for asking. Actually, the Lunatics will be treating our hangovers and recovering from the holiday lunacy with a brief vacation. The restaurant will be closed on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 through Tuesday, January 8, we will resume our regular service hours on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Thanks for ringing in the New Year with us!
